About
Teochew (潮州) is a cultural-linguistic region in the east of Guangdong, China. It's also known as “潮汕” in Mandarin, “แต้จิ๋ว” in Thai, “Triều Châu” in Vietnamese, and “Tiociu” in Indonesian. The region consists of the cities Chaozhou, Jieyang, Shantou, and some surrounding areas. Many Teochew paople have emigrated abroad, particularly to Southeast Asia, and established communities there.
VTuber is often abbreviated as vtb or just V in China. The database TEO-V Name List, presented by VRChat Teochew Association, aims to catalog VTubers from the Teochew region, support the growth of the local VTuber industry, promote VTuber culture and Teochew culture, and make it easier for viewers to find information and discover VTubers that they enjoy.
